Magellan's Various Policies on Warranty Service
Magellan's Policy on "Out of Warranty Repairs": (Taken from the Magellan Website on 10/05/2009) .. Magellan does not service products. For receivers returned after the warranty period or for damage not covered by the warranty, customers may purchase a new unit at a reduced cost or reconditioned unit also at a reduced cost.
Magellan's Policy on Warranty Service: If you purchase your unit from an authorized Magellan dealer on eBay or elsewhere your warranty applies. However; if you purchase a used, refurbished or new unit from an unauthorized dealer your warranty does not apply. SO BE CAREFUL .. your unit may not be covered by the Magellan Warranty and you may be "Out of Warranty".
Magellan's Software "In Warranty Software Policy": (Reference Warranty Policy 631455-98 B).. Magellan warrants that software products or software included in hardware products will be free from defects in the media for a period of 30 days from the date of shipment and will substantially conform to the then current user documentation provided with the software (including updates thereto). Magellan's sole obligation shall be the correction or replacement of the media or the software so that it will substantially conform to the then- current user documentation. Magellan does not warrant the software will meet purchaser's requirements or that its operation will be uninterrupted, error-free or virus-free. Purchaser assumes the entire risk of using the software.
